The British government has officially published a document detailing the "reasonable worst-case scenario" if the U.K. leaves the European Union without a deal.

Details of the so-called "Operation Yellowhammer" plan were leaked to The Sunday Times last month. But earlier this week, lawmakers voted to force the document's release so the U.K. knows what to expect if a no-deal Brexit happens.

According to the report, a no-deal scenario could be pretty bad. Public disorder on the streets, fuel shortages, disruptions to financial services and decreases in the supply of fresh food are just some of the potential consequences.

And the document warns those effects could linger for weeks or even months as the U.K. adjusts to the changes.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has promised the U.K. will leave the E.U. on the Oct. 31 deadline with or without a deal.
