Shoppers in the U.S. are moving quickly to stock up on hand sanitizer amid growing concerns about the coronavirus outbreak.

Some stores, including some Walmart and Walgreens locations, say they're completely sold out of the products and are having to order new shipments. Meanwhile, office buildings, malls and sporting arenas are working to add hand sanitizer stations.

According to  Nielsen, the four weeks leading up to Feb. 22 showed sales of hand sanitizers up by 73% compared to the same time last year.

But while the products boast high levels of effectiveness when it comes to killing germs, the CDC still recommends washing your hands with soap and water as the preferred course of action.
