Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder wrapped up his last official day in office Friday with a marathon bill signing and vetoing session.
Some of Snyder's decisions may be a relief to Democrats and more moderate Republicans. He vetoed a bill that would have allowed state lawmakers to intervene in court cases — a bill some saw as an effort to shrink the power of the incoming Democrat attorney general.
Snyder also vetoed a bill that would ban doctors from practicing telemedicine to prescribe abortion-inducing drugs.
But Snyder also signed a bill that limited voters' power in the state. That bill makes ballot drives considerably harder — no more than 15 percent of signatures on ballot proposals can come from any one congressional district in the state.
In all, Newsy's sister station WXYZ in Detroit reports Snyder signed 340 bills and vetoed around 55 following November's elections.
Gretchen Whitmer will be sworn in as Michigan's next governor on Jan. 1.
