U.S. jobless claims rose last week for the first time since April. 

The Labor Department reports unemployment benefits topped 412,000, despite evidence the economy is starting to rebound. 

Many businesses are reportedly scrambling to hire workers, though the number of jobs added in May fell short of expectations.
