About a day after competing with the top dogs in the world, an Irish setter is dead — and an autopsy indicates he was poisoned.

"Not only is the show world devastated but we have also lost a member of our family," said Amy Mackay, daughter of the dog's co-owner Dee Milligan-Bott.

Thendara Satisfaction, also known as Jagger, returned home to Belgium from the Crufts Dog Show Thursday, March 5. By Friday, Jagger was dead.

Jagger's co-owner Dee Milligan-Bott talked about the autopsy results on Facebook, "A large amount of beef cubed, stuffed with 2-3 different poisons was stitched into the meat. This resulted in a very painful death for our beautiful boy."

She told BBC radio she didn't believe Jagger was being targeted and that it may have been a random attack, but another of Jagger's owners, Aleksandra Lauwers, thinks the opposite and told The Telegraph, "It looked like an act of jealousy."

The Telegraph reports two other dogs from the show are ill in incidents that might be related. Police are investigating.
