An appeals court ruled Tuesday the House of Representatives is allowed to see hidden grand jury information from special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that the House should have access to the full findings. The panel affirmed a lower court's decision, which criticized the Department of Justice's legal reasoning for keeping the House from seeing the full report on Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election.

In the majority opinion, the judges said courts cannot "micromanage" House investigations into President Trump. House Democrats want to look at the confidential grand jury information as part of an investigation into potential obstruction of justice in Mueller's probe.

Appeals are expected and the case could end up before the Supreme Court.
