Michael Dunn has been found guilty of first-degree murder for the 2012 killing of 17-year-old Jordan Davis.

Dunn was charged for shooting into a vehicle full of teenagers at a gas station after an argument about their music.

Police said Dunn shot 10 times into the vehicle and that three of those shots hit Davis. Dunn argued he shot his gun because he thought Davis had a weapon and he feared for his life. The prosecution pointed out Davis kept shooting while the teens were driving away.

Dunn was found guilty of three counts of attempted murder, one for each of the other teens that were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. But that jury was unable to come to a decision on the 1st degree murder charge, forcing a retrial before a decision was made.

It's worth noting the initial jury took four days to decide on the attempted murder counts, but the retrial's jury took just half a day for the first-degree murder conviction.

Davis' parents spoke to the media shortly after the sentencing.

RON DAVIS VIA WJXT: "I'm glad today to see something positive happen in America. That we can report in the news something positive tonight. Tomorrow morning, we can say maybe this is a start here in Florida"

Immediately after the jury's decision was announced, #JordanDavis began trending on Twitter. The racial tension surrounding the shootings made this a national story from day one.

And, always with an opinion on big crime stories, HLN analysts had little sympathy for Dunn.

"This is about vindication. Vindication for who? For Jordan Davis. All cases turn to one person, the victim of the case. There was a victim here. It's Jordan Davis."

The judge has set Oct. 17 as Dunn's sentencing date. He faces 60 to 150 years in prison.
